Mycoplasma gallisepticum - PCR

Sample required: Tracheal swab ๐Ÿงช

๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฆƒ Avian mycoplasmosis is a bacterial disease of chickens and turkeys caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum or Mycoplasma synoviae.

This disease causes respiratory problems ๐Ÿคง and a reduction in egg production ๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿฃ in infected hens and causes significant economic losses ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ’ฐ in all sectors of the poultry industry ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŒพ.

Infection with these bacteria also worsens cases of diseases caused by other viruses such as Newcastle disease (NDV), avian infectious bronchitis (IBV).

Avian mycoplasmosis can also infect some wild birds.

In Madagascar๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฌ, various studies carried out by veterinary students show that many chickens on farms and on market stalls are infected with this disease.

Mahaliana Labs ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ”ฌ offers a PCR test which detects the bacteria in a sample ๐Ÿ” and thus allows veterinarians and breeders to care for or protect their animals.
